Gerard Langridge (Melbourne, VIC)

Gerard Langridge

I was first introduced to employment in the late 1980s after attending Box Hill TAFE.
My first job was with Melbourne Water from 1990 to 1995 where I handled bookings, mailing and filing.

I have now worked for about 26 years, and currently work at Australia Post sorting mail at the Mooroolbark Delivery Centre. I receive ongoing support from Advance Personnel Management. It is my wish that all people with intellectual disability get the opportunity to have a career in work like me.

I have worked for the Waratah Wynyard Council since 1998. I do general gardening and labouring duties, and make sure the many facilities in Wynyard are maintained at a high level. I work 18 hours a week. I like gardening and have used my job skills to create a great garden at home.
